“Life is a journey, when we stop, things do not go right”. Pope Francis

Dear readers,

We have joy to share with you our experience of the first day of the meeting of the young professed sisters in Burkina Faso 2016. We started our day with prayer and meditation. Mt. 3:13, 4,11

The 3 levels of theory U

Intellectual, spiritual and will.

Basic attitudes for the journey

Bio centric, Inclusiveness, simplicity, spontaneity, courage, Christ centered, novelty, fluidity, etc

Co-initiating the first step of the five stages of theory U

We went out with two questions to reflect personally and after to discuss groups. The names of the groups are: Lavigerie, Misericorde, Pape Francois, Pelican, Nature and Water. Through the group discussions we came up with the blessings/strengths and the statement to guide our meeting.

The blessings or strengths

Charism: all to all, Missionaries to the African world
Formation: Professional, Spiritual, Trust to the young sister
Openness: Needs of the people ,Learning the culture, Diversity of the mission
Attachment to Christ: Ignatian spirituality Discernment
Faithfulness to our heritage; our history the name of the congregation
Community life:  caring for our sisters; mutual support
Interculturality and internationality

Statement

We young MSOLA with our strengths and weaknesses in collaboration with other, we discern Gods call in today’s world to witness to his love. Our openness helps us to live fully our mission and bring change.

Then we have the intervention of the General Council on their experience of the theory U process. One of the important of the meeting is to help us to bring our contribution for the next General chapter.

The levels of listening:

Downloading: Listening from Habit
Factual: Listening from Outside
Empathic: Listening from Within
Generative: Listening from Source

Then followed by an exercise of Empathic listening in pairs witch was interesting and life giving.

We ended our day with a beautiful Eucharist.
